The Elizabeth Glaser Story:
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation was founded by Elizabeth Glaser
(an AEΦ at the University of Wisconsin, Sigma Chapter) and two of her close friends in 1988, shortly after Elizabeth
and her husband, Paul, discovered that she, along with their two children Ariel and Jake, were infected with the AIDS virus,
a result of a blood transfusion. The goal of the organization is to educate people on the special issues concerning children
with the AIDS virus. The foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars towards AIDS research in the 15+ years since
its inception at the Glaser's kitchen table. AEΦ is proud to be able to support such a worthy cause through the efforts
of its members.--copyright 2006 Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority
Locally, our chapter contributes to a variety
of philanthropies. We support philanthropies such as; Breast Cancer Awareness, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, The Ronald
McDonald House, The Make a Wish Foundation, The St. Jude Childrens Hospital and anything that effects a sister in
some way or another. Not only do we donate money to our philanthropies, but we like to have hands on experiences.
We as a sorority like to get out there & do what we can ourselves like doing walks, and cooking dinner at the Ronald McDonald
House for the families of sick children. We hosted two Battle of the Bands for Make a Wish Foundation & have our
annual AEPhi Jailbreak to benefit one our Philanthropies.
